Why do we sin, even if we know it’s wrong? Today, R.C. Sproul confronts the lie that we embrace every time we rebel against the Lord.
You know that every time you sin, you are confronted with the same issue. Every time we sin, we sin because we want to. And we want to because we're convinced that if we do the sin, it will make us happy. And if we don't do the sin, we'll lose something in our pursuit of happiness, right? And we know that if God's law says no to us and I want to do it, and I go ahead and do it, what am I saying? I'm saying I know what's going to make me happy. God doesn't know what's going to make me happy. He has arbitrarily put a restriction on me to keep me from being happy. The same slander that the serpent is giving to the integrity of God is repeated every single time we sin. That's why it's so serious. Even in our slightest sin, we slander the integrity of God.
